Measure physical-key speed. The first valid press starts the clock.
Ready to Start
Test only with a physical keyboard. Do not type passwords or sensitive information. Events stay in page memory. Fn, media keys, and OS-reserved shortcuts may not reach your browser.
Select 5, 10, 30, or 60 seconds, then Spacebar, A Key, or Any Key. The default is Spacebar for 10 seconds.
Click Start to focus the test area. The first matching physical keydown starts timing and counts as press one. Release the key before pressing again.
When time runs out, the result is fixed. Try Again starts a fresh round. Copy Result copies only your score, duration and selected mode.
Average CPS and the final score equal total valid presses divided by the selected test duration in seconds. During a round, that value is progress toward the full-duration average.
Current CPS counts valid presses in the trailing one-second window. Peak CPS is the highest such count observed during the test; it is not measured from OS auto-repeat.
A long hold counts once. Repeat events and duplicate downs without a release do not add to your score. Composition events and browser shortcut combinations are excluded. Leaving the test area or switching tabs interrupts the round instead of producing a completed score.
No. This tool measures valid physical keyboard presses per second. Clicking the page or tapping the screen does not add presses.
Each press needs a keydown followed by a release before the next press. Auto-repeat and duplicate keydowns are ignored so the score reflects distinct presses.
You can browse the page on mobile, but you need an attached physical keyboard for a physical-key CPS measurement. A software keyboard may not provide reliable physical codes.
An armed or running round is marked interrupted and cannot be copied as a completed score. Click Try Again to begin a new round; a completed result stays fixed.
